As stated in the guild charter there are some basic rules for the officers of the guild which includes the following:
1. At least one guild run a week. (if need time off talk to gm)
2. Enforce guild rules
3. Enforce promotions and demotions
What does it mean to enforce the guild rules and how do the promotions work?
A guild run is defined as a run through an instance given by at least one guild member which is has a higher level through any instance. The common ones that Redfirefly does includes Deadmines (vc), Stockades (stocks), Scarlet Montesary (sm), Shadowfang Keep (sfk) and sometimes others ones with the help of another guildie. Some guild officers are not high enough leveled to solo an instance and will sometimes partner up with another higher leveled member in order to do the run. (Note: If you want to level fast it's suggested that you go questing with other guild members or run instances with other guild members your level because you get more experience points that way then when a higher level takes you through).
When guild officers enforce guild rules it includes giving warning and talking to guild members to help resolve any issues in the guild. It is understandable that sometimes actions are not intentional and some rules could be accidently overlooked but when a guild officer speaks to any member in regards to any rules it's suggested that you try to be respectful. If any member feels that they were wrongfully warned or that a guild officer is taking advantage of his/her position in the guild the issue should be brought up to the guild master in order resolve the situation. If there is any issue with the guild master a guild member can bring it up to an officer and when this happens the guild officer will contact the guild master and the three of us will try to resolve the situation together.
Lately there has been a big change in the recruiting process which includes an interview with all new members of the guild, this interview can be conducted by any officer. When there is a member who is returning to the guild they must contact the guild master in order to be accepted back into the guild. The interview lets the guild officers and guild master have a better understanding of who is joining our guild. After the interview, a guild officer and the gm must talk to another officer in order to approve the application to the guild. If there is not two officers online at that given time the officer who did the interview will need to take down the name of the applicant and speak to another officer at a later time.
Promotions in the guild are no longer given by the level that character is but by the participation in the guild. When a guild member helps the guild grow and help other members they are rewarded with promotions in the guild. Besides the promotion from intiate to apprentice, all other promotions are given on saturdays around the picnic time. Promotions are discussed and agreed upon by the officers who over the past week have been paying attention to the guild chat of whos been actively helping other guild members. Sometimes it can be overlooked by accident so if a guild member is looking for a promotion they can bring it to the attention of the guild officers.
The only promotion which is moderated specifically by the guild master is the Magister(aka officer) position. To apply for this position there is an application on the guild website in the forum which an interested member will fill out and e-mail the guild master. This application will be looked over by the guild master and officers. Officer positions will not be frequently given out and are given out on need basis.
Demotions are given to members who fail to comply to a guild rule. Sometimes they can be overlooked and just given a verbal warning instead. Much like promotions and recruiting before a demotion could be given it will be approved by two officers. This way to ensure that no officer is being "unfair" to any member.
Booting from the guild. In the past few weeks there has been a few members removed from the guild. Typically if a member constantly break the rules in the guild after the third time they are removed from the guild. Two guild officers must approve it before it is put into action. Another way a member is removed from the guild without having two warning s and third offense would be harrassing an officer or the guild master when they try to speak to the member.
